He was not willing to put in the work to improve his employment in order to support us (he was making 30K a year, I was making 25K a year at the time). I knew myself well enough to know that I could not do a job and kids. When I was married (during that time period), I told my then husband that, if we had kids, I would need to stay home with them. I don't handle noise, chaos or mess at all well. I love kids so much, I realized I wouldn't be a good person to have them. I spent a solid five years thinking about it and chose to skip it. No, it means I don't regret not having them. Get as much objective information as you can. I'm begging you to do actual research into the topic, not just consult your feelings, which are based on culture and ignorance as you are not actually parents yet.
